Optional CourtListener access
CourtListener is separate from CanLII. First create a CourtListener account, then open its API-token page to get your key. Paste it into the CourtListener field on the ROSS Account → API keys page.
CourtListener mainly covers U.S. material. ROSS does not provide or share a CourtListener key.
Optional CanLII access
ROSS works without a CanLII key, but connecting your own authorized key can make Canadian legal research more useful. Ask CanLII for access through its feedback page. If CanLII gives you a key, paste it into the CanLII field on the ROSS Account → API keys page. ROSS does not provide a shared key or scrape CanLII.

When the information is available, ROSS shows the jurisdiction, court, source link, version, date retrieved, and what has been checked.

ROSS uses A2AJ and official government websites for Canadian research. CourtListener is available for optional U.S. research. You can also ask CanLII for your own API key to improve access to Canadian legal information. ROSS does not scrape CanLII or provide a shared key.

Some courts, tribunals, older material, and later case treatment may be missing. Do not assume that a search result is complete or that a case is still good law.
